Welcome to 2020

Kia Ora,

Welcome to 2020, my name is Xhin and i'm in the Hillary hub, i'm year seven and For this year our theme is change.

On week one we played some games, they were called ice beaker, get to know each other and we also started little lies. For get to know each other, we were split into two, all of us had to look at our partners and see what they wore. Then we had to turn around so we won't see what they've changed, then each of us tried to guess where they've changed their look. For little lies we had to do 2 truths and a lie, the teachers shared a slide to us so we could decorate and and write the two truths and one lie.


A couple of days later, the Hillary hub had to guess what our theme for the year was, the teachers gave us two pictures for each group and for my group we got a picture of a building. One of them was in good condition and one of them was broken, both of them meant something too.

Then eventually we started on art, and we had to color two feathers each with colored pastels. For mine i colored one with cold colors and one with warm colors. After all of us were done the teachers turned them in to a big wing.

When some of us were done, we started the zen tangle art, the zen tangle art was really tricky because we had to make the triangles,zen tangles and our photos fit together.

Cantamath

  Kia ora Last week, we had been asked to join cantamath. There are a lot of things you do in cantamath, but as a class we all had to design a model and create it. We as a class have to make a poster for the new cantamath next year too.  There is one that we all can't participate on though, and it is you having to be in a team competing with other teams from other schools. They must compete by solving equations and they also need to be quick before the time runs out. We have about five weeks to finish our creations, after a week(or a month)(something like that) we will go to horncastle arena(We might not, because of covid19) For my creation, I am making these, but I might add more and change them slightly. Lit circle

Kia Ora, This week we started on lit circles. But before we started, we had to pick a book to read to explain about. I got a book called posted, it's a book about Anderson and middle school, him and his friend going through a crazy journey. We also had to pick what our job/task is.
